Fragile Forest Station
Creep over for an enchanting escapade with slender stick insects, crinkly caterpillars and other mystifying mind-boggling bugs. Let our forest specialists bring you on a personal Rainforest Walk for a closer peek into the hidden secrets and surprises of the Fragile Forest. The opening of the Fragile Forest immersion exhibit in November 1998 activated the docents into setting up a new discovery station, also called Fragile Forest (FF), which focussed on insects, both live and preserved, to explain their role in the habitat. The station was manned by Creepy Crawly (CC) docents as there were not enough numbers to start a new group at this stage. By 1999, the FF team was already able to break off from the CC team after the first training programme ended in May to stand as a separate and independent core group. This allowed each section was then able to devote their energies to developing new activities in their area, such as the feeding commentary and snake encounter tour in CC and the rainforest walk in FF. | |
